Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays. It has all the qualities of a great comedy: a couple of sassy and witty protagonists, a lovable clownish character, and, of course, a double wedding ending. One of the things that sets Much Ado apart from other comedies is the emotional love story of Hero and Claudio. It is almost torn apart in a series of dramatic scenes orchestrated by the villain, Don John, and his henchman, Borachio. It is this subplot that gives Much Ado an emotional twist. Shakespeare Conquest is a group of homeschoolers, ages 12 to 18, who spend countless hours rehearsing and studying Shakespeare. Some of these students have never done a theatrical performance, while others have done many. You would be hard-pressed to tell the difference! All of these youths have such great talent on and off the stage and it is a pleasure and blessing to work with them.
